Seeing the rollercoaster answered the question, though. I had been on it on my first trip to Japan 8 years ago!

Unfortunately, Festival Gate failed to make money and the theme park closed down a number of years ago. Shame.

Spa World and Festival Gate

This area also felt familiar for some reason, and I was certain it wasn't from the game.

But what was it?

It took me a while to realize this

But it hit me after a while and finding the area feeling strangely familiar.

Shinsekai was featured in Ryu ga Gotoku 2 too! Hahahaha.

Kushi-katsu.

And... the items I came to search for.

They tasted alright, but I ended up getting a light case of food poisoning from it. :(

Heading to Shinsekai.

Shinsekai is a Shoutengai project that ultimately failed to gain the traction it was aiming to get. The centrepiece of the project is the Tsuutenkaku tower, which will be pictured later. Nowadays it's viewed as a sort of ghetto, though I went to the area with one primary goal: to eat the kushi-katsu (breaded fried shishkebabs) here, on my friend's recommendation.
